Wasco!

Wasco’ing on?

If freedom has a shape, what does it look like? Wasco! is an invitation to go in search of a renewed sense of freedom, to colour outside the lines. A live action painting performance, sometimes unbridled, chaotic and wild… and sometimes gentle.

Wasco! blurs the lines between music, art, and dance. Ten young performers aged between 6 and 12, wax crayons and paintbrushes in hand, a lot of paint and some jazz, dance a universe on their terms. The result: an extraordinary painting.

What is dancing if not drawing in space? Art is a way of making freedom visible and experienceable, fulfilling the desire for it, if only for a moment.

“I feel it’s a work of art in my body too.” – Gus, performer
