In To The Dirt

Immersive sounding floor / Installation in public space

INTO THE DIRT is a sounding floor –  a soil we can listen to, sit or lie down on. It stands in the centre of an urban situation. You can listen to the goings-on in, on and around it – however you like. If we direct our ears to what is happening at foot level, we can focus on the hustle and bustle around us in a completely new way. It’s about getting involved in the moment of now and sharpening our senses by becoming aware of our immediate surroundings.

INTO THE DIRT allows us to hear what usually our shoes do. It offers the opportunity to pause for a moment in the midst of the spectacle of everyday life, a small moment for a different perspective: What if we humans are not the centre of attention, but part of a greater whole?
