The promotion platform for Swiss dance takes place every two years in a different Swiss city. Over four days, 12 to 15 productions, selected by a jury of experts, are shown to the public as well as to an audience of over 200 national and international presenters and professionals. The Swiss Dance Days are an important promotion platform for the independent Swiss dance scene and they enjoy a good international reputation. The 2024 edition of the Swiss Dance Days will take place from 28 February to 3 March 2024 in Zurich.

Since it has been over 10 years since the last fundamental discussion in the scene that led to the current form, Materialise was commissioned to contact all the stakeholders (artists, curators, funding institutions) to check whether the platform in its current form is still relevant and achieves its goals, particularly in the light of the evolving touring conditions (financial and ecologic sustainability).
