Jeremy Nedd

Jeremy Nedd is a Brooklyn-born, Basel-based choreographer and performer whose work focuses on the processes of dissecting, demystifying and re-contextualising content in order to confront definitions of validity and contemporaneity. An alumnus of SUNY Purchase college in New York, Jeremy Nedd completed a Master in Expanded Theater at Hochschule der Künste in Bern. Nedd is the 2017 recipient of the Atelier Mondial Grant to develop a project in South Africa as well as a 2017 finalist of PREMIO Award for next generation of Swiss performing arts creators.

Jeremy Nedd was an associated performer of Semperoper in Dresden and Ballett Basel as well as a guest performer of the Münchner Kammerspiele, where he collaborated with fellow American artist Trajal Harrell, amongst others. Since 2019, Jeremy is a featured member of the ensemble of Theater Neumarkt in Zurich.

A rapidly rising figure in the Swiss choreographic landscape since 2017, Jeremy Nedd has started presenting his productions abroad, mainly in Europe and in the USA for now but soon on other continents. Materialise currently represents Jeremy’s work in the Asia Pacific Region, particularly his 2019 production The Ecstatic, which he realised in collaboration with South African collective Impilo Mapantsula.
